POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Purpose of the Role:

  • The UI/UX Planner (Producer) is responsible for the upfront coordination and  planning of HMI / UI UX workstreams and then managing them through to delivery.

  • The purpose of the role is to turn  UIUX specific programme requirements into credible project plans, resourced appropriately and structured with reviews and deliverables , that seamlessly dovetail into the both the broader vehicle design programme and brand design activity.

Key accountabilities

  • Responsible for setting up how UIUX projects are operationalised.

  • Insightful planning that marries resource and deliverables and timing within broader programme requirements.

  • Ensure cross design discipline integration of UI/UX workstreams

  • Key support function of operational management of the Brand Design team, in order to achieve our strategic objectives

  • Liaise and co-ordinate with creative operations , programme management and business operations teams to ensure appropriate team capacity in order to deliver projects on-time and to budget

  • Supports and informs capacity planning

  • Stakeholder management across interdependent design functions.

SKILLS:

Essential skills

  • Creation and management of detailed project plan using MS Project, Wrike, Jira, Adobe Workflow or similar tools

  • Stakeholder management, working with cross-discipline teams

  • Ensuring all involved parties in delivery teams understand requirements for deliverable and key dates

  • Experience of resource planning across multiple creative disciplines

Critical capabilities

  • Excellent knowledge of UX & UI design and the process of delivery

  • Experience of strategically planning UX, UI and  multi-disciplinary projects

  • Min 3 years experience working in UX/UI and software development teams

  • Automotive design experience is preferable.

  • Ability to translate plans and strategies into action to support the execution of projects.

  • Strong track record of delivery within both agency and corporate settings

  • Creative sensitivity and acumen to understand complex multi-disciplinary design projects

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to present complex information to all levels within the business

  • Comfortable managing projects across different cultures, geography and time zones.

  • Experience with Chinese based teams preferable.

  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced design environment.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:       

  • Min 3 years’ experience working with UX/UI and software development teams

  • Must be comfortable working to a brief to tight deadline

  • Comfortable working with partner teams located overseas and managing potential disconnect through cultural and language barriers

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS       

  • Working with China-based clients/teams

  • Working with MX or Feishu tools for sharing files and deliverables

  • Experience of planning physical and digital requirements on a single product/project
