Position Description:

  • The Test System Design team are a key service provider in Powertrain Test Operations within the Engineering Operations Department at JLR.

  • The team are responsible for integrating complex prototype systems into the physical test environment.

  • The team provide System Designs to the operational teams and outsourced test partners that form the Powertrain Test Operations team within Engineering Operations at JLR.

  • You will be responsible for developing test systems to enable the development, verification and validation of JLRs future propulsion systems.

 Skills Required:

  • Experience delivering projects and developing complex systems

  • Experience designing and/or validating electrified powertrains

  • Experience designing and/or validating electrified powertrains.

 Experience Required:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in areas such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Controls or Systems Engineering.

 Experience Preferred:

  • Competent with Microsoft Visio and Excel. Demonstrate a `customer first’ attitude through clear and confident communications.

  • Technical expertise and experience of physical test facilities and preparation of prototype systems for test.

  • Scrum Product Owner or Scrum Master qualifications.

  • Experience with design and/or implementation of: Automotive networks, Low Voltage Electrical Distribution Systems, Hazardous Voltage Electrical Distribution Systems, Hazardous Voltage Instrumentation, Hardware in Loop simulation, Cooling systems, Vehicle software and calibration development.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt (or greater) Training and certification.

  • Experience with relevant standards.

  • Experience of relevant health and safety regulations.
