OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To support the project teams with existing components and new tooled component development.
SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
Responsible for leading the development of new tooled components with the Lear suppliers for components such as plastic parts, rubber parts, metal parts, connectors, terminals, eyelets etc.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervising the 3D packaging of components in integration with the harness installations in CatiaV5/ V6 & VisMockup
Prepare RFQ packages to purchasing team for sourcing of new component at the Lear suppliers.
Lead supplier design activities and design reviews.
Ensuring the use of engineering specifications and procedures for the components.
Manage new component sign off to Lear & customer manufacturing plant
Participate in DFMEA’s together with Suppliers, DVP, CAD Engineers, EDS Engineers and Project Engineers.
Agree on supplier DVP and follow up to the results and approve them
Participate in customer design meetings.
Be aware of all customer design requirements eg. Design manual, SDS.
Support DFM activities.
Support Lear plants to understand customer specifications to be to obtain PPAP/PSW on the components.
Supervising the preparation of all necessary drawings and 3D files for customer and internal releases.
Work cross functional with engineering, program, commercial and purchasing team.
KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical Skills
5 years EDS experience
Customer tools such as CaitaV5, Tce, VisMockup, AIMS, ECR database
Knowledge of FEA applications
DFMEA
Knowledge of tooling such as injection, stamping projection tools.
Knowledge of Engineering and design tools
Knowledge of quality tools such as APQP, DFMEA, 8D
Cost understanding
Knowledge of CAD tool (2D and 3D)
Knowledge of how to read technical drawings
Qualifications
Degree or equivalent in electrical / electronic discipline
HNC/D or equivalent in electrical / electronic discipline
