Duties: 

  • The position is responsible for the engineering integration process for vehicle architectures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop the vehicle technical specifications and attributes across vehicle architectures

  • Lead and resolve complex muti-functional engineering problems. Be able to balance competing attributes and requirements to define the optimum engineering solution.

  • Analysis of current and future technologies and competitor products to ensure the future competitiveness of JLR products by influencing JLR strategies

  • Coaching, reviewing and delegating work to lower-level professionals.

  • Problems faced are difficult and often complex. Typical Title: Vehicle Architecture Lead Engineer

Skills:    

  • Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering and cross-functional vehicle systems

  • Enthusiasm for vehicles and their development

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interpret technical information

  • Good IT literacy eg. ability to create and manage presentations and spreadsheets

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of whole vehicle development and validation

  • Previous experience of problem-solving tools, e.g. Six sigma methods

  • Previous experience of leading technical issue resolution
