Main purpose of the job:

  • Support organisation with indirect procurement requirements for allocated plants

Main missions and results:

  • Sourcing of the indirect materials, products and services.

  • Identify Cost Savings with plant stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Close connection to Indirect commodity managers and Plant stakeholders for Cost Savings.

  • Be and escalation point of supplier issues for indirect regarding service levels or price issues, for the requesters and / or suppliers.

  • Action LTA PO changes for indirect products and services.

  • Develop, maintain, lead, and own the indirect roadmap cost savings project.

  • Support the Indirect Commodity Managers as and when requested, for the topics relevant to the plant buyer’s plants.

  • Indirect Tooling and local supplier management, negotiation, and PO creation, as exception, when the Tooling and Capital teams cannot do it.

  • Plant indirect P-save lead and ownership.

  • Maintain the indirect price lists in AS400.

  • Process the new supplier requests in Lotus Notes.

  • Approval of the indirect purchase orders in AS400.

  • Control / administration of the supplier bonuses for the indirect procurement.

  • Negotiations with suppliers regarding new launches and changes for indirect products and services.

  • Support the requisitioners in raising the purchase requisitions in AS400 (POs related to the plant buyer mission).

  • Work diligently and timely to achieve assigned KPIs and objectives.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Degree / MCIPS preferred but not essential.

  • Ability to promote best practice purchasing techniques.

  • Proven commercial success / strong negotiator.

  • Previous manufacturing / automotive experience in (Direct, Indirect or Tooling) preferred but not essential.

  • Experience in cost engineering, raw material, tooling buying Indirect spend and product portfolio would be advantageous.

  • Ability to lead negotiations and support teams in the development of negotiations strategies for large and complex projects.

  • Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrable commercial success within an Automotive and / or manufacturing environment is desired, but willing to consider all industries with the right competencies gained.

  • Excellent organisational skills, deadline adherence and exceptional attention to accuracy and detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Able to act under pressure with calmness, clarity of thought and decisive authority.

  • The determination to drive forward the business to ‘Best in Class’ performance standards.

  • Must be capable of lateral thinking and be able to make structured and objective decisions.

  • Able to demonstrate a methodical approach towards problem solving.

  • A high level of self-motivation to overcome obstacles.

  • Results driven and the ability to deliver against aggressive targets to achieve the overall business objectives.

  • A flexible approach to working hours and practices is necessary.

  • Ability to play a lead role in contract implementation and management.

  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes.

  • Proven supply chain management and procurement experience, dealing with both small and large value organisations.
