We are currently recruiting for permanent Quality Resident Engineer to be based at our customer site in Ellesmere Port. The main purpose of the role is to ensure customer satisfaction and ensure compliance of established quality standards by providing guidance and support.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Report and record all quality concerns found on the Tier 1 Supplier parts at the customers' assembly plant

Receive and monitor supplier and customer concerns

Pre-empt, prepare and deliver data as required in customer-based meetings to all levels.

Act in a pro-active manner as “window” for communication between customer located at the assembly plant and Tier 1 Supplier.

Collate data and report back day to day concerns between the customer and Tier 1 Supplier.

Create, issue, co-ordinate and track 8D corrective action process in accordance with required timescales

Communicate with the Tier 1 Supplier manufacturing plants to request and follow up with outstanding data from the plants.

Obtain and monitor all relevant Parts Submission Warrants

Assist in ensuring the Quality function actively participates and supports in project and design activities

Support Project Management System and other APQP activities where required

Provide support for engineering activities within the plant

Immediately report any major concerns and roadblocks to Management.

Co-ordination of rework activities

Check manpower requirements for any in-plant activities.

Support in the control, training and education of agency rework staff located within the customers' assembly plant

 

Maintain compliance with Quality systems

Strict adherence to the Company and department's IATF 16494 procedures and instructions

Requirements:

Broad and varied experience working within a Quality Function in automotive industry

Working knowledge of APQP, Global 8D, PPAP, SPC, CPK, Taguchi, Ishikawa, Poke-Yoke, Kaizen and 6 Sigma processes

Experience of vehicle assembly and manufacturing processes

Good working knowledge of MS Office products, especially Excel

Excellent communication skills

Effective time management

High self-confidence level

Strong analytical skills

Excellent communication skills in written & verbal English

Self-sufficient, self-motivated and proactive

High attention to detail

Full valid driving licence to drive in the UK

Right to work in the UK
