Physical Properties CAD Engineer

Location: Seven Stars/NAIC/Gaydon

​Position Description:

• Proficient CAD user, trained on CATIA V6 Primary focus on JLR prototype package models, whilst also supporting other activities related to the engineering and build of technology demonstrator properties.

• These require understanding and then integration of new technologies into existing or new vehicles.

• Solid and surface creation, manipulation and assembly

• Working in collaboration with build suppliers to create accurate physical models in challenging timescales

• Accurate hard model modifications

• Prototype mechanism design and build

  Skills Required:

• Reasonable experience in product design in at least one functional area - essential

• Experience of CATIA V6 for detail or packaging design and geometric integration essential.

• Hands On experience- essential

  Experience Required:

• Good communication skills - written, graphical and verbal

• Well rounded knowledge of vehicle types, systems and sub systems

• Hands on ability, assembly and dis-assembly, making models

• Experience of negotiating solutions in an area of technical conflict

• The commitment to deliver quality results in a flexible and dynamic team environment

• A proven ability to work within strict timing constraints

• The ability to achieve results in an efficient manner, making effective use of all resources available within the company and outside Ability to tell a data / CAD driven

• Engineering story that efficiently highlights current status / work to do / help required.

• Driving License

• Working in collaboration with build suppliers to create accurate physical models from Ureols, RP parts in challenging timescales.

• Accurate hard model modifications

  Experience Preferred:

• Familiar with vehicle Mechanics Knowledge of electronic based parts listing and family trees

• A working knowledge of Vehicle Packaging roles, Vehicle Engineering and Engineering deliver team structures and their responsibilities

• Experience of presentation to peers and senior management
