Position Description:

  • Ensure accurate alignment between Engineering BOM, TCe/PDM database System &

  • CAD Models/Physical parts dependent on project phase.

Main objectives and results:

  • Managing a team of BOM Engineers to ensure that: -

  • Creation and maintenance of accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for parts in development,

  • generation of company part numbers and colour codes which align with the Customer Part Numbers.

  • Upload and Maintenance of BOM on TCe/PDM system to allow parts to be issued for RFQ and for sourcing accurately and robustly.

  • Leading the audit of Engineering BOMs vs CAD BOM vs actual build, noting significant errors that may result in shortages or cost discrepancies, communicating as appropriate and updating Engineering BOMs as required.

  • Maintaining BOMs to capture engineering changes, procurement or supplier changes, general updates, BoM maturity etc. distribute to the Team and help feed into plants MRP system by providing support as required.

  • Facilitate weekly Change Management Meetings (CMM), liaising with full team to effect changes into BOM once approved, issue robust minutes to support close out of actions.

  • Escalate open action which have not been completed in a timely manner.

  • Ensure RFQ and ECN's are loaded with accurate documentation

  • Raise and populate TCe/PDM ECNs with Engineering Direction to adequately convey any drawing revisions and / or updates to CAD Team, answering any queries and overseeing to ensure completion in a timely manner.

  • Liaise with and provide support to all team members on a variety of subjects on which you will be key fact holder - where parts are made, what colours parts are available in, what raw materials are used and where, and other BOM related queries, providing support as required to various members of the team.

  • Ensure that the company release management processes are implemented robustly through out EU Locations

  • Be the point of contact for New Starters and deliver induction and comprehensive training and guidance to delivering the above functions

  • Conduct regular audit reviews of company and Customer Release Management Procedures to ensure company remains in line with global expectations.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Educated to Degree / HNC standard in an Engineering or commercial discipline or with significant demonstrable relevant practical experience.

  • Computer literate with good understanding of MS Office, in particular Excel.

  • Possess good communication skills, oral and written, enabling them to interact with a wide variety of team members of various levels of the company hierarchy.

  • Self-motivated, with a willingness to learn.

  • Experience of working or willingness to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
