Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of new test physical test facilities within JLR.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced project manager / project engineer with a good understanding of the differing requirements of road based, laboratory based and virtual engineering tools and equipment.
Required to work with a wide set of stakeholders, a broad understanding of test procedures, safety and audit requirements as well as the ability to specify civils requirements, such as M and E, is also desirable
Skills Required:
Ability to lead and coordinate the design of complex systems with multiple requirements
Ability to construct timing plans, schedule work tasks and manage team activities to completion
Broad understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles
Skills Preferred:
Demonstrates high level of business behaviours.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to present complex information to all levels of management.
Must be self-motivated, keen to take on responsibility & able to work to a high standard with minimal supervision.
Ability to coach and develop a team of engineers.
Friendly, flexible person with good communication skills.
Ability to work theoretically and practically with people in different teams, at all levels of the business.
Experience Required:
Experience managing the requirements of a diverse range of stakeholders.
Experience of collaborative team environments
Experience operating and working in a technically capable team
Experience Preferred:
Experience working in or around a physical test environment
Educated to degree level in a related discipline
Experience with any of the following: Servo Hydraulics, Test Rig control, CAD / CAE, Data Logging equipment, HIL or SIL equipment, building civils or M&E
Understanding of JLR active system technology: Chassis Systems, Body Systems, HV-Electric Systems.
Ability to design, interpret and implement complex test procedures methodically.
Experience with Hazardous Voltage (HV) Systems & Batteries.
