Position Description:
The Opportunity Working as a Junior Data Scientist in the Body Chassis Team, you will play a key role in delivering varied data science activities in support of improving efficiency, quality and compatibility across our Digital Engineering (CAD, CAE) through the exploration of data sources and the use of scientific processes and technologies to uncover and communicate product and business insights.
You will help define the data to be gathered and formulate technical solutions to analyse and solve some of our most complex business problems.
In this exciting position, you will explore and implement data capabilities through data collection & cleaning, exploratory analysis, machine learning, and data visualisation, as well as supporting the coaching of the business on data analysis and data science topics.
With a highly creative and open mindset, you will help revolutionise the way that Product Engineering uses and delivers value with its data.
Skills Required:
Degree or equivalent professional qualification in the field of Data Science Knowledge and experience of using SQL and Python for data collection, data cleaning, modelling, and visualisation.
Experience with using a cloud computing platform for data storage and pipeline creation
Experience Required:
A Passion and deep interest in the field of Data Science Knowledge and experience of using SQL and Python for data collection, data cleaning, modelling, and visualisation.
Experience using BI Tools such as Tableau.
Understanding of machine learning concepts and operation
Experience with using a cloud computing platform for data storage and pipeline creation.
Ability to clearly communicate thoughts and ideas in simplified visual form.
Good general IT skills Experience delivering projects as part of a team
Good eye for Quality and attention to detail
Experience Preferred:
Experience in building and validating machine learning models in frameworks such as TensorFlow
Awareness of the latest technologies and developments in the fields of Deep Learning and Generative AI
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Develop Data Science Solutions Creatively architect and develop solutions to accomplish the work set forth by the Product Owner, whilst exploring and promoting the possibilities and advantages of utilising data science for improved efficiency, quality, and compatibility of our product engineering process.

Continued Conversion to a Data Informed Organisation Help the cultural shift in the use of data through training and communication, from helping those that today have had little experience with exploiting the benefits of data insights to those who are very experienced but need help with the latest techniques.
Collaborate to Deliver Proactively organise and plan how to accomplish work, at an agreed upon level of quality, effectively with other developers to accomplish the sprint goal, checking in with each other frequently to inspect and adapt approach in pursuit of the optimum solution.
Proactive interaction cross functionally with the wider data communities within Jaguar Land Rover to learn from and share best practices.
Toolset Quality Take responsibility for the quality of the toolsets and solutions produced and continuously ensure sympathetic integration with elements produced by others.
Maintain and mature our Agile Environment Collaborate frequently and closely with all other members of the development team to nurture a proactive, caring development environment and a team that is able to naturally take shared responsibility for the overall efforts they have committed to.
Mentor customers and other developers in the technical and behavioural skills required to create and implement data toolsets.
Agile and Sprint Participation Partake in all Agile Sprint Activities for the relevant sprint team & contribute to team continuous improvement through active participation in sprint retrospectives working in line with Scrum and other agile methodologies as appropriate.
Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.
