JOB DESCRIPTION                                                                                                                                


To provide operational support and process improvement to a high volume injection moulding manufacturing facility.                                                                                                                                             

Functions / Tasks:                                                                                                                                               

Identify potential tool change improvements

Conduct mould changes and set up moulding processes to agreed operation settings

Identifying and correcting process problems

Conduct first off against standard ensuring part appearance is good and date stamp is evident.

Uphold the principles of 5s for all machines, ancillaries, driers etc.

Ownership and control of IMM machines, driers and trailer and tool storage 5S.

PFU creation and closure (machine, tool, material feed)

Tool change time reduction through SMED (Plan, Do, Check, Act activity)

Define standards for 5S / TPM - maintain and improve

Cycle time improvement / general scrap reduction via use of PFU system

Basic / Desirable Education                                               

Level 5 qualifications (desirable) or equivalent in English / Mathematics, mechanical engineering   

Desirable Experience                                         

Working knowledge of JIT sequence supply, Experience within a high volume complex manufacturing environment, proven track record in IMM discipline. Experience working with Customers, good communication skills.

Ideally have quality experience, Experience working with Jaguar, Land Rover, and Toyota. Problem solving, Continuous Improvement, Customer Liaison.

Moulding Technology level 3, Time served apprenticeship or relevant experience.  IMM/process knowledge                             

Knowledge of TS16949
