Position Description:

  • Responsible for repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance of facilities.

  • Performs electrical, painting, and/or carpentry repairs of fixtures and equipment on company premises.

  • Conducts periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required.

  • Maintains all equipment necessary to perform work.

  • Primary emphasis is on performance of a variety of maintenance tasks, rather than a high degree of skill in any particular trade.

Level: A Specialist Para-Professional (S4) requires advanced knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience and may require vocational or technical education. Responsibilities typically include:

  • Working under limited supervision for non-routine situations and may be responsible for leading daily operations.

  • Training, delegating and reviewing the work of lower level employees.

  • Problems are typically difficult and non-routine but not complex.

  • Typical Title: General Maintenance Technician, Warehouse Maintenance & Repair Technician, Store Maintenance & Repair Technician

Skills:     

Essential 1: A Level 4 qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline or relevant experience. ATEX CompEx

  • Essential 2: Proven experience and understanding of Fuel farm operation, Fuel Management, Testing Facilities and equipment.

  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new systems and processes

  • Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • A Level 4 qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline or relevant experience.

  • Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent in English, Maths and Science

  • ATEX CompEX

  • DSEAR Competent

  • Proven experience and understanding of testing facilities, processes, equipment and leading technologies.

  • Knowledge of Fuels

  • Experienced in Risk analysis and problem-solving control systems.

  • Clear and confident communicator both orally and in writing

  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new systems and processes

  • Ability to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style

  • Ability to follow written and spoken instruction and interface well with customers

  • Ability to work quickly and pay attention to detail

  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office.
