  • The Rotating Machine Test Delivery team is part of Powertrain Test Operations and Engineering Operations.

  • The team maintains productive workflow from the ICE EDU Test facility and delivers test capability to the Powertrain Engineering and Certification teams.

  • The team are responsible in providing operational running of JLR products both (ICE) internal Combustion Engines and Electronic Drive Units (EDU).

  • Our function is to support the customer teams from Powertrain and Engineering in their objective of achieving `timely, quality' product release.

The role:

  • The ETDS Triage Engineer works alongside the ETDS team in delivering products into test maximising the facility utilisation.

  • This role ensures the requesters have a point of contact and support to deliver the request made and customer service is maintained.

  • The person filling this role will work on a day shift pattern and will be providing support for the facility that runs 24/7 which includes external facility hire.; they will be based primarily in Whitley managing the workflow of a small team.

  • Strong leadership and robust management skills, supported by a foundation built on proven technical ability are needed to ensure that you make best use of the specialised practical and technical skills in the team.

Position Description:

  • ETDS Triage Engineer supports the work delivery of the ETDS team in reviewing the work requests and the team's workload.

  • Supporting processes and development of process to encompass all new commodities.

  • Creating fault tree approach to work request closures.

Skills Required:

  • Internal Combustion Engine (ICE and or Electronic Drive Unit (EDU).

  • Experience in Diagnostic type approach with diagnostic software Hardware.

  • Ability to manage data bases and communicate workload to the team.

Experience Required:

  • Experienced in diagnostic fault finding and reporting

  • Skills in fault resolution and root-cause identification are crucial, as is a methodical, logical approach to work.

Experience Preferred:

  • Engineering Qualification Mechanical and or Electronics
