OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

To be responsible for supporting 1st line Management at the relevant plants on all generalist aspects of HR, whilst providing support on various HR projects  

SCOPE OF THE POSITION 

Responsible for managing all employee relations issues e.g. Attendance Reviews, Disciplinary, Grievance & Flexible working  

Supporting the site HRBP and Snr HRBP with generalist duties 

Day to day generalist support and advice for the business ensuring consistency across sites. 

Full Absence Management   

Maintain GDPR compliance 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

Employee Relations

Manage high volume Employee Relations issues at the Coventry & Redditch plants such as: Attendance Reviews; Disciplinary (up to and including dismissal); Grievance & Flexible Working Requests.

Support Managers, providing advice and guidance in respect of all ER matters escalating complex cases and appeals as appropriate within the HR structure.

Work alongside other members of the HR team to ensure that all employee relations issues are dealt with in a timely manner in line with the Company policies and procedures

Support Managers in respect of managing poor performance and performance improvement plans.

Effectively manage short and long-term absence processes, to drive a reduction to below the Company target

Work with Occupational Health & Management to ensure that all employees with restrictions or issues are being managed back into the business, escalating capability cases to HRBP, if required.

Ensure that Occupational Health referrals are received and/or completed prior to appointments

Conduct regular reviews of existing Policies & Procedures and suggest improvements where necessary

Ensure consistency and precedence of case handling across sites

Where policy revision or new policies are required, conduct research and develop 1st draft for peer review

Liaise with develop an effective working relationship the union representatives

Reporting

Collate and monitor the weekly statistics and reporting.  

Analysis of all absence statistics to identify trends or concerns

Occupational Health

Work with Occupational Health & Management to ensure that all employees with restrictions or issues are being managed back into the business, escalating capability cases to HRBP, if required.

Ensure that Occupational Health referrals are received and/or completed prior to appointments

Training

Work with Management to identify training needs

Recruitment

Liaise with the recruitment team and assist managers with interviews, up to 1st line Management level.

Ensure that all Job Requisitions are closed out appropriately (Band 3 and below)

Other

Responsible for ensuring all personal administration is conducted in a timely manner including updating trackers

Review and carry out induction meetings with new employees where required.

Carry out project work to support the wider HR team

Any other reasonable requests within the scope of the role and capability
