​Position Description:

Electrified Powertrain Manufacturing Test Engineer Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering (PTME) is a key contributing organisation within Fords business as we transition from our historical product line-up of Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) only, to a strong Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) powertrain offering.

This position arises at an enthralling time as PTME Europe are at the forefront of the transformation of our manufacturing facilities across Europe from ICE to BEV.

You would be a key member of our PTME family, helping us to modernise our business as we `Bring on Tomorrow' within Ford by manufacturing our new range of electrified powertrains for vehicles.

Your role within the team would involve you collaborating with our partners, including; Product Development, Purchasing, Equipment suppliers and Manufacturing Plants.


We need you to share your transferable skills, knowledge, and experience within our team as you:

Engineer and install flexible, agile, cost-effective test systems across Europe powertrain manufacturing systems from design concept stages through to product launch on time and to Quality.

Immerse yourself within our dynamic and flexible team as you contribute to the `can do attitude' the team has as we work in a fast-changing environment.

Create manufacturing feasibility, cost estimates and best practice input to shape our future Electrified powertrain solutions.

Support the continuous improvement of test systems and the introduction of new technologies globally.

Use data-driven issue resolution to quickly suggest corrective measures that will protect the customer.


Skills Required:

Experience in Manufacturing test Equipment

Experience with electrified vehicle systems testing such as PHEV and BEV.

Battery and Electric Drive product knowledge, including power electronics.

Project Management of manufacturing test equipment delivery from Design to Installation.

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

High level of IT/ software skills including data acquisition.


Skills Preferred:

Experience in Manufacturing Automotive testing

Knowledge of One or more of the following: Electric transaxle testing, Leak testing, Stator Electrical Testing, and NVH Testing.

Experience of vehicle networks such as CAN-FD, CAN, LIN


Experience Required:

2 years in high volume manufacturing / process environment


Experience Preferred:

5 years in high volume manufacturing / process environment


Education Required:

Bachelor's Degree in engineering discipline or 5+ years industry experience without Degree.


Education Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or 5+ year's industry experience without Degree.

Additional Information:

Driving Licence Required.

Travel will be required to Suppliers and Manufacturing sites
