The Opportunity:

This role will undertake data engineering for Manufacturing projects to industrialise products and to support products in life, ensuring data is trusted, accurate and timely.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Products delivered on time and to cost and user accepted to standards

  • Story point velocity (measure of efficiency)

  • No. bugs/issues reported on the products

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for risk for own work whilst working on projects

  • Undertake data engineering for Manufacturing projects ensuring data quality and availability

  • Undertake data engineering for industrialisation (technological deployment)

  • Fix problems with products as required, escalate where needed

  • Perform data modelling for data requests for Manufacturing projects

  • Input into digital solutions and data assets in the cloud

  • Implement data transformation, wrangling and ETL solutions

  • Ensure data created through projects is available and fit for use by others in the cloud

  • Input into the data backlog for analytics interventions, reflecting prioritisation

  • Interface with IT where Service Delivery required, inputting into IT defined processes

  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Strong working knowledge in Python (or similar)

  • Strong working knowledge in SQL (e.g., joins, CTEs, UDFs, stored procedures)

  • Previous experience of Data Analysis and Architecture in Manufacturing

  • Previous experience and knowledge of various data management tools (i.e. SDS etc.) & MS Excel / Access

  • Excellent level of ability to structure, analyse/ interpret data

  • High level of IT literacy

  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred

Desirable:

  • Good working knowledge in a business intelligence tool (e.g. Tableau)

  • Manufacturing knowledge to ensure meaningful initial problem definition
