​Position Description:

  • Vehicle Personalisation (VP) sits within Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) function and is responsible for delivering a wide range of products including Bespoke, Limited Edition, Armoured and Commercial vehicles, along with Accessories and Premium Palette Paint.

  • As a department, we work hand-in-hand with our colleagues within SVO, including Special Vehicles, Classic and Bowler, along with our core business counterparts.

  • As part of the Vehicle Personalisation department, the Attributes Lead Engineer will play a pivotal role in enhancing the customer experience through the development, measurement, balancing and trade-off of customer attributes for JLR vehicles and products.

  • This role specifically will support the effective and successful development of JLR Armoured vehicles, taking responsibility for the delivery of customer attributes on related programmes, reporting to the Vehicle Personalisation Attributes Manager.

  • The successful candidate will have a clear passion for the quality, continuous improvement and innovation of both our products and the way we work in the eyes of our internal and external customers, approaching all activities with unity and integrity.

Skills Required:

  • Vehicle customer attributes target setting and delivery.

  • Vehicle level test planning and completion on Proving Ground, Public Road and Rig based environments.

Experience Required:

  • Broad knowledge of vehicle technologies

  • Understanding of Vehicle Customer Attributes fundamentals

  • Clear proven track record of setting attribute targets using data driven, benchmarked approach

  • Experience of Attribute target achievement and robust documentation. (inc. RMDV, Panel Charts, Benchmarking, Futuring, CAE & Physical Test reports, DVP, Customer Immersion Events etc)

  • Experience of successful test planning with component engineers and suppliers to deliver complex and challenging attribute targets

  • Proven experience of planning and conducting vehicle benchmarking and validation through safe and effective approach inc. driven and rig tests Experience of problem solving including application of Root Cause Analysis, 8D, DoE etc.

  • Understanding of Systems engineering principles and delivery

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred Microsoft package elements Power Point and Excel  

Experience Preferred:

  • Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering and cross functional experience

  • Armoured/Protection vehicle engineering processes, standards and challenges CAD visualisation systems (e.g. VisMockUp, 3DX)

  • Experience using specific issues & change management tools e.g. AIMS, JIRA

  • Use of product/system requirements and risks identification tools e.g. P-diagrams, FMEAs, FTAs

  • Understanding of specific Durability & Robustness attribute principles, with a knowledge of data collection and analysis processes.
