​Position Description:

This role is responsible to lead the management of Rigs & Test Kits cross car-line, including collation of initial inputs, tracking parts supply & cost and maintaining the status through product development of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles for Special Vehicle Operations.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Compilation of Rigs & kits for vehicle test activities on time and budget to planned technical gateways.

  • Create and maintain the full Rigs & Kits plan for cross car-line programmes, working with key fleet owners and test teams to fully optimise the utilisation and efficiency of the plan.

  • Co-ordinate the Rigs & Kits plan for each test phase, working closely with engineering, finance and programme stakeholders to optimise the plan and confirm financial approvals.

  • Maintain single source of truth document for Rigs & Kits, providing robust accurate legacy data in support of live & future programmes.

  • Lead regular meetings with users and stakeholders to maintain accuracy of piece cost status & quantities.

  • Identification & Implementation of process improvement opportunities, across Rigs & Spares estimation process during early prog stages and then maintaining programme overall Rigs & Kits budget through programme delivery phase

  • Ensuring orders placed in line with Rigs & Kits plan

Skills Required:

  • Experience of working in a test and development environment - ideally within the Automotive Sector Experience of managing cross functional inputs into planning documentation for Rigs and Kits.

  • Must be proficient user of Microsoft office, PowerPoint, excel  

Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Experience of working in a test and development environment - ideally within the Automotive Sector Experience of managing cross functional inputs into planning documentation for Rigs and Kits.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications, with experience of leading report out / presenting status to senior stakeholders.

  • Must be proficient user of Microsoft office, PowerPoint, excel Track record as a highly effective team player with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Full driving licence

Education required:

  • Willingness to be involved with UK based and overseas travel / testing as appropriate.

  • Experience of tracking complex whole vehicle test plans through to completion in support of engineering gateways.

  • Class 3 and 1PG driver training (JLR internal process), or equivalent.

  • Working knowledge of Requirements Management (RM) Experience in IBM Rational DOORS
