3D EDS Harness Design Engineer

We are currently recruiting for permanent 3D EDS Harness Design Engineer's to be based in our Coventry office and the Customer site.  The main focus of the role is to provide the design interface between first tier and OEM automotive engineering centres based in UK. Working as part of a team of design engineers in the collection & assimilation of data to enable electrical distribution systems (EDS) to be designed, verified and validated whilst ensuring customer satisfaction throughout.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Designing 3D routing of Electrical Harnesses safely and securely  

Working to the tier 1's and the customer requirements/standards

Provide the design expertise required to achieve all programme EDS design deliverables

Conducting, analysing and reporting concept design studies to the customer

Releasing 3D CAD/Drawings into the customer system

Supporting on site evaluation of physical products at the vehicle assembly plants.

Support design verification testing activities

Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customer

Working to project deliverables according to the timing plan

Measure and report progress clearly and effectively

Attending customer and internal team meetings

Requirements:

University Degree in Mechanical, Electrical and Motorsport Engineering

Previous proven practical Harness EDS design experience

Working knowledge of the automotive product life cycle

Previous proven experience /certification of Catia V5 Software or similar  

Previous proven experience using electrical workbench

JLR Team Centre/Digital Buck trained and qualified

Vehicle assembly process, especially EDS related aspects

Working knowledge of DFMEA

Working knowledge of 3D Checks for design verification process  

EDS manufacturing experience

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Very good communication skills combined with a high degree of self-motivation and self-confidence

Must be able to use own initiative and working as a part of a team

Positive attitude with a good ability to deal with work pressure and overcoming challenges, while maintaining ownership of issues.

Well-developed analytical ability with a passion for solving problems or initiating improvements.

Ability to manage deadline expectations, be able to report, progress and flag areas of concern

Fluent in English language

Full UK or equivalent Driving Licence

Right to work in the UK - Valid Passport
